Oh my goodness, y'all, it is December 1st and I have my Currently ready to go! Are you as impressed as I am?! Probably not, but I'm super proud of my slacker self! December is my absolutely favorite month in the classroom, so maybe that is attributing to my enthusiasm and motivation to get back to blogging. Elf on the Shelf, Grinch Day, Reindeer Rotations, Holidays Around the World, Polar Express Day, Winter, Christmas. I can't wait!
Go link up with Farley and share what you are up to!

October Currently
I'm finally linking up with Farley from Oh' Boy 4th Grade for the October Currently! Better late than never. I've completely neglected my little blog lately; it has been crazy around here since school started! I'm sure you can relate! Things are starting to settle down and I'm looking forward to getting back to blogging.
Listening: The kids are asleep and I'm enjoying a rare moment of silence!
Loving: The fall weather we are having here in Texas this week! It is absolutely wonderful!!
Thinking: The weather is perfect for the pumpkin patch this weekend!
Wanting: Nothing says fall like pumpkin bread! I'm going to have to break out the loaf pans this weekend!
Needing: Sleep! Jillian caught the stomach virus yesterday and we didn't get any sleep last night. Luckily, she recovered quickly and is back to normal now.
Trick or Treat: Treat! I've been working on several resources and freebies to celebrate reaching 100 followers on TpT! I'm hoping to get them posted this weekend and I will put my little store on sale! If you teach Kinder-2nd grade, make sure to follow my store so you don't miss it!
Thanks for stopping by to get the scoop! If you haven't already, go link up with Farley so I'm not the last one!!!

Arr, it be Talk Like a Pirate Day, me mateys!
Get out those eye patches, today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day! It is time for some swashbuckling fun!
Ahoy, math learning fun ahead! I've some booty for ye, me heartie!
Me shipmates are working on part part whole and subtraction number sentences. In honor of International Talk Like a Pirate Day, I whipped up this little freebie for you. I would print these on cardstock and laminate for durability. Target had some pirate themed erasers in the $1 section last year (they might have them again, I haven't been lately, shocking I know!) that I scooped up, but any manipulative would work!
Last year, we tried our hardest to speak pirate all day and it was so much fun! The kids added an Arr! to almost every sentence. I hope you have fun with your Pirate speak! Check out this fun pirate translator and a pirate dictionary if you need a little help!

September Currently 2014
I'm linking up with Farley from Oh' boy 4th Grade for the September currently!
Listening: My kids were watching The Wizards of Waverly Place on Netflix. I had never heard of it before (yes, I live under a rock), but it is a pretty cute show.
Loving: This three day weekend! We were lazy and spent all three days recovering from our first week back at school! It was much needed!!
Thinking: I seriously don't know how everyone blogs and creates for TpT during the school year! They must not have kids or they don't sleep. There is never enough time for everything I want to do! I'm hoping to find a balance.
Wanting: Wouldn't it be nice to have a four day school week and a three day weekend?! Just sayin'!
Needing: I need to clean my house. So let me work on this Currently instead...
3 Trips: My dream trip is to the UK! I want to go to England, Ireland, and Scotland for the history, architecture, and castles. I would at least like to make it to Vegas for the conference next year!
Thanks for stopping by to get the scoop! Go link up with Farley, Oh' Boy 4th Grade!

First Day Teacher Survival Kit and a Freebie!
How is everyone adjusting to getting back into the swing of things? Our teachers went back to work this week (officially) and have been working around the clock. It isn't easy to go from lazy days to waking up before 6! I've been dragging this week and next week is going to be even worse!
We had schedule pickup at the intermediate school for my oldest two kids on Tuesday and Meet the Teacher at the elementary school for my youngest two on Thursday and Friday. Between those two events, my oldest broke her toe, my son needs braces, and my Nana found out she is having heart surgery next week! Perfect timing, right?!?! UGH, so you see why I missed Five for Friday, but I digress.
My first grader's teacher is new to our school and I wanted to make her feel welcome, so I made her this First Day Teacher Survival Kit! I always give a small gift at Meet the Teacher, because I love spoiling our teachers! She seems wonderful and we are excited to have her!
I actually had almost all of these materials on hand, because I ama school supply hoarder always prepared, so it was really easy to put together! At first, I started with only a few items that I was going to put in a mason jar with a ribbon around it, but then I started pulling out all sorts of stuff for her out of my supply stash. A plastic shoe box bin ended up being the perfect size and a teacher always needs more bins! I would have used a bin to match her classroom, but at the time I didn't know what her theme was, so I went with a clear box with white lid.
See that circle tag, it says "We are looking forward to a bright year!". I made that tag first, to go on the mason jar. I made this Survival Kit card after I compiled all the items I wanted to include. I'm sooo happy with how my First Day Teacher Survival Kit card turned out. I made it into a freebie for you! I know that everyone will have different items in the kit, so I included blank editable pages so you can add your own text. These kits make great presents for new teachers, student teachers, substitute teachers, and team gifts!

Five for Friday August 15th
It's a Five for Friday post...on a Saturday! Don't judge, it is my last week not knowing what day of the week it is! Next week it is back to reality. I'm linking up with Kacey from Doodle Bugs, better late than never!
My kids are home and it is our last week before the craziness starts! We have all be working on adjusting back to our normal routine. We ran errands, went to the library, play dates at Bouncing Bears, back to school shopping, and went on a day trip. I don't have any good pictures to share. Honestly, we were too busy having fun! The only downside to my week, I had to give up my Peanut Butter Captain Crunch and actually start cooking again. It has been torture I tell ya, but they are worth it!
I linked up with Falling Into First for the Meet the Teacher Blogger Linky! It was perfect timing, because I need to finish my "About Me" section on my blog. It was fun reading about everyone and getting to know other bloggers!
We went to the Blue Bell ice cream factory. Blue Bell is one of the best things about Texas, along with Shipley's Donuts! If you have never tried it, you are missing out! I have been meaning to take the kids there for several years and we finally got around to it. I was surprised at how easy of drive it was; we probably would have gone a lot sooner had I known that. We had a lot of fun touring the facility and the free ice cream was a hit! You can see how my son LOVES posing for pictures! He is at that age, too cool for everything.
My son had a tooth pulled at the dentist. He said he doesn't believe in the tooth fairy. He had the nerve to say that I was the tooth fairy! Can you believe that? Like I have wings and money to spare. Silly boy. I made him put his tooth under his pillow anyway, but the tooth fairy hasn't come yet. I told him it must be because he said doesn't believe! You don't believe, you don't get presents! Boom Mr. Skeptical. Remember that before Christmas, or Santa will bring you underwear in your stocking.
My kids are growing up. :-(
I finished my First Day of School sign for student pictures! A little late, but hopefully someone can use them! I added signs for my first day, 100th day, and last day of this school year. I also added three color options, turquoise, red, and lime green.
You can get your free copy here. I would appreciate your feedback!
I will put the sign in a frame for students to hold while I take their picture. Actually, it is a perfect job for a parent volunteer. ;-) I LOVE student pictures throughout the year; it is amazing to see how much they grow! These are a perfect addition to your scrapbook and/or make a great parent gift!
That is about it for me; it has been a pretty slow week. Just spending time with my kiddos before the school year starts and things get CRAZY!!! They were gone most of the summer, so I am trying to squeeze in what little time I can. I have a TON of TpT projects that I still haven't finished, but my kids come first.
Thanks for stopping by to get the scoop!

Meet the Teacher
I'm excited to link up with Stephanie from Falling Into First for the Meet the Teacher Linky! I'm brand new to blogging and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Hi y'all! My name is Stacia, pronounced stay-sha. I'm a new Texas teacher, blogger, and TpTer! I've been having so much fun getting everything up and running this summer! The teaching blog community is filled with incredibly inspiring educators and I'm thrilled to learn, grow, share, and collaborate with amazing teachers all over the world! It has already been such a rewarding experience and I'm just getting started!
I am a mom of four great kids, ages almost 6, 8, 10, & almost 12. You can't leave out the almost! They are my life!!! We have two dogs and two cats (each kid had to have their own of course). Our house is loud, crazy, and always a mess, but a lot of fun! Here are my cuties!
Q: SHARE SOMETHING WE MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU!

I completed my student teaching in Kinder and 4th grade last fall (I timed it with my youngest starting kindergarten). I'm currently subbing and about to start my masters as a reading specialist. The flexibility of subbing is perfect, as it allows me to continue to volunteer in my kids' classrooms and attend all their activities while doing what I love. However, my heart is in first grade and I will look for a full time teaching position next school year. I've been preparing for my classroom for five years now, I'm ready!
One of my favorite things is to dress up and have fun with the kids!
Ms. Frizzle comes every year for Reading Day and Science Day!
Granny Seagroves comes to visit for the 100th day!
THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS...
My kids. Reading. Teaching. Lazy pj days. Cuddling in bed with my girls. Pinterest. Iced vanilla coffee. Cereal. Turquoise. Children's books. Clip art. Dressing up. Historical fiction. Volunteering. McDonald's iced tea half cut (half sweet/half un-sweet). Twizzlers. Margaritas with my friends. Tex-mex. Freebirds. Laminating pouches. Christmas music. Frixion erasable pens.
IF YOU WEREN'T A TEACHER, WHAT WOULD YOU WANT TO BE?
School Board President. Education Reformer. Reading Specialist. Librarian. I can't imagine NOT being in education!
School Board President. Education Reformer. Reading Specialist. Librarian. I can't imagine NOT being in education!
THREE LITTLE WORDS THAT DESCRIBE YOU.
Positive. Enthusiastic. Dedicated.
FINISH THE SENTENCE, "________, SAID NO TEACHER EVER!!"
"Summer went by so slowly...said no teacher EVER!"
Q: IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY AND YOU CAN INVITE ANYONE {DEAD OR ALIVE} TO THE PARTY. WHO ARE YOU INVITING?
You, of course! ;-)
Q: IF SOMEONE WROTE A BOOK ABOUT YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD BE THE TITLE?
"Shit Can't Stop Me!" Are we allowed to curse? That is probably frowned upon. "Always Moving Forward" sounds better. I'm no good at names, I spent over a year trying to think of one for my blog.
Q:YOU GET TO PICK ONE SUPERPOWER. WHAT IS IT?
Snap my fingers and everything is how I want it! Clean house, enough time for everything I need to do, perfect body/hair/makeup, cranky kids suddenly happy, papers graded and filed, everything organized, think of the possibilities!!
Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE OR SAYING?
I have a bunch! Check out my Pinterest Wise Words board.
Q: IF YOU HAD TO SING ONE SONG ON AMERICAN IDOL, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
"Let It Go" After all, my girls and I have performed it in the living room a million times, choreography and all. I'm ready! That ticket to Hollywood is mine!
Q: ARE YOU A MORNING PERSON OR A NIGHT OWL?
Neither, but I can rock 10-4 like nobody's business!
Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE RESOURCE THAT YOU'VE CREATED IN YOUR TPT SHOP?
My goal this year is organization, so my binder covers are my favorite right now! I'm happy to get my files organized into binders so I can find what I need, when I need it.
Q: SHARE SOMETHING WE MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU!
I was in the U.S. Army (many many years ago). I don't remember my life before kids though. I homeschooled my oldest before moving home to Texas, getting a divorce, and going back to school to finish my elementary education degree. The past several years have been crazy busy, but so worth it! Teaching is my passion and what I was born to do!
Thanks for stopping by to get the scoop about me! I'm looking forward to reading more about you as well! Go link up with Falling Into First!
