Wordless Wednesday July 30th: Shopping Explosion!

I'm linking up with Christina from Sugar and Spice for Wordless Wednesday!
I have been working to purge and organize my house, one room at a time, over the past few weeks. I'm not done yet, but it is coming along nicely! I finished the kids' rooms and now I am working on my teaching materials. Yikes.
This is my foyer. You are supposed to be able to walk, dance, and spin around...yeah, not happening. I have cleared a little walkway so we can get in and out. This pic is just a small sample of what has taken over my house. Teaching materials here, there, and everywhere!!! My garage, my formal dining room, and my foyer are filled. It would probably help if I didn't add a bag or ten two to the pile every other day...I blame Dollar Tree! It is bad. Seriously driving me crazy bad. So bad I've even thought of renting a storage unit, so my house will not look like a Lakeshore Outlet.

Please tell me I'm not alone!? I'm seriously considering that storage unit...except I'm too cheap and that means I'd have to move it all back and forth between my house, unit, school. Yeah, I'm too lazy for all that! I would love to hear how you organize/store/hide your materials over the summer or when not in use!!

  1. I feel the same way about my house! I'm having construction done so I'm basically crafting out of my car!!! Don't you just love the craziness of August?

  2. Do you have to bring that much home, or are those things that you collect over the summer? We don't start buying much until the beginning of July when back to school sales start. We have access to our classrooms all summer too, so when the piles start getting too big I'll take them to school and dump them there. The problem with that is then it turns into a hot mess at work!!

    1. The piles in the dining room and foyer are all the stuff I've bought this summer. The stuff in the garage is what I keep stored until I need it. That is nice that you have access to your room all summer!! Thanks for reading!

  3. I've tamed all of my stuff to our home office. I have EVERYTHING from my classroom in there because I am moving schools and can't get into my new classroom until Friday. I told the mister to just stay away from the office lol

  4. I think you just described my house! It is all over the living room (which I really don't use), dining room and 2nd bedroom. While I'm not really wanting to go to school yet (not allowed anyway), I look forward to the day when my house doesn't look like my classroom threw up in it! Good luck with your organization! Let me know if you have any good tips!

    1. Thank you, Amanda! Reading that yours takes up so much space too makes me feel better!!! Thanks for reading! I keep all my materials sorted by subject in bins in my garage, but all the stuff I've bought this summer hasn't been organized yet.

  5. Last summer was terrible for me. I bought so many new library buckets and bins and even books... my entire entry was was filled with green, lime, and hot pink organizers! I blamed Deals and Target. So you're not alone! This summer, I had a few Target hauls but I was really good about taking them right up to school so it wasn't in the way! Don't fret over the mess - you're making good progress!

Good luck on all your organizing :)

  6. I swear the photo posted looks IDENTICAL to my living room right now! LOL! I am right there with you when it comes to acres of bags during B2S time. We can't get into our building, so I'm hoarding them all until we are able to access our rooms. I usually try to keep as much as I can in the back of my SUV, so that when I DO get a chance to run by school, they're loaded and ready to go. Other than that, I dedicate an entire corner of our living room and pile it all up there. At least it's contained....right?!?!? Haha! Thanks for linking up and sharing!

    1. Thank you, Lindsey!! Y'all are making me feel so much better! I had 20 turquoise baskets in my trunk and they were ALL cracked when I was rear ended! :-( I think I was more upset about my baskets than my van. Vans are a dime a dozen, but turquoise baskets are hard to find!! hahaha
