Five For Friday

I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for my first Five for Friday! I've had a busy and productive week.

I finished my summer course on Tuesday. No more homework for this girl!! Whoop whoop! Now I can focus on cleaning my house and finishing up some freebie projects for y'all!

I celebrated my course being over with friends and margaritas! Girl time is the best! Especially when your friend, Deneen, has one of these babies!

I got together with my mentor teacher (and friend) from when I student taught in kindergarten and we did a little shopping! Lakeshore Learning, Teacher Heaven, Mardel, HomeGoods, Target (x6), Dollar General, Gigi's Cupcakes, oh my! I know I'm forgetting a few stores. It was wonderful to be able to spend time with her outside of school! Susan is an AMAZING kindergarten teacher and she has started a blog to share her experiences & tips, go check her out to see what she scored at the Target Teacher Dollar Spot this week!

Celebrating successful shopping and kid-free time together with margaritas! What else, right?!? I've had more margaritas this week than I have had in the past 10 years combined. It has been a fun week! ;-)

It burns, Target, it burns!! School starts August 25th here, but all the stores put their supplies out this week. I'm kind of crazy though, because I LOVE school supply shopping! Seriously, what is better than a new pack of colored Sharpies, fresh crayons, and Target's Teacher Dollar Spot?! Well, other than a margarita and new books. It is a teacher sickness. I know you get it!

I also scooped up Little Critter for $5 at Kohl's. I collect the Kohl's Cares for Kids stuffed animals to use as book buddies in my library. We won't talk about how many stuffed animals that adds up to after all these years, or the fact that I don't have enough space for the ones I've already got...

I'm going to be making take home book bag activities to go with each book and animal in my collection. I know my students will love being able to take them home!

I didn't just drink and shop this week, I got a lot done around here! My air conditioning is fixed, I have a new driver's license, I cleared out the kids' toys (Shhh!), and I organized the living room play area. Here is a before and after picture of our game cabinet. This sucker took me several hours today. I have five trash bags of toys & games to take to Goodwill tomorrow! It feels soooo good to purge!!! The kids are going to kill me when they get home. #sorrynotsorry

I also notified the winner of my $25 Teachers Pay Teachers Gift Card Giveaway. I announced it on the Rafflecopter and Facebook on Tuesday evening, but in case you missed it: Michele B. was the winner! Thanks to everyone that entered!

I've been working like a madwoman this week because my youngest daughter is coming home tomorrow morning!!! She has never been away from me before and I'm sure the past two weeks have been much harder on me than her. I'm going to give her a great big hug and not let go!

Thanks for stopping by to get the scoop on my week!

  1. Evan if all you had done was drink and shop that would be ok - what else are holidays for? :)
